Just by looking at all the records above it is easy to see that the month of August was very HOT. The city of College Station saw some of the warmest minimum temperatures it has ever seen. The low temperatures during the month of August never dipped below the 70 degree mark and mostly hovered around 80°F. The maximum temperatures did much of the same thing. No daily high temperature this month dipped below 90°F. College Station saw twenty-two days of 100°F or 100°F plus high temperatures. On the twenty-third and twenty-fourth College Station topped out at 107°F. These two days of 107°F heat set two new highest maximum temperature records. Unfortunately, all the hot weather kept the precipitation at bay. There were only four days were precipitation fell bringing the monthly total to 0.34", 2.29" below normal. The last day of the month was another 100°F day setting the trend for what looks to be a warm September.
