College Station saw rainfall and temperatures near to slightly above average for the month. The transition to fall could be seen with 100+ degree highs in the beginning of the month turn to the mid to lower 80s at the end of the month. The majority of the precipitation came on the 29th when a slow moving low pressure system dropped 2.63 inches of steady rain on the city in 24 hours, breaking a record for that day’s precipitation. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, Brazos County returned to drought conditions by the end of the month as the region is blanketed in D1 Moderate drought classification.
