College Station Monthly Summary: April 2003

This month saw very little precipitation in the Brazos Valley with the monthly total standing at a paltry 0.17", which is 3.03" below the normal. This puts the yearly total at 1.52" below normal, so we hope to see a wetter month of May. Average high temperatures were 1.4°F and average lows 2.5°F above normal, respectively. A record high temperature was reported on the 24th of the month of April with a temperature of 91°F. A very late season cold front passed through the area on the 8th, dropping high temperatures almost 20°F from the previous day. A 3rd lowest minimum temperature of 38°F was reported on the 9th, and another near record on the 10th with a 2nd lowest minimum temperature of 36°F. An additional front on the 21st dropped temperatures on the 22nd and the 4th lowest maximum temperature of 73°F was reported. The month of April concluded with high temperatures slightly above normal with dry conditions as well.
