College Station Monthly Summary: March 2000

March saw warm temperatures dominate the Brazos Valley for much of the month, with 21 temperatures that were either records or near records. However, it is interesting to note that the area tied both a low maximum and low minimum temperature record. Precipitation totals for the month were right at the normal, although rainfall is still below average for 2000. The week of spring break was cool and dreary as rain was recorded at Easterwood Field from the 14th to the 19th, resulting from a low pressure system and associated cool front which moved through the area. On the 29th, another low pressure system moved through, bringing showers and thunderstorms to the Brazos Valley after spawning severe weather that had ravaged Fort Worth.
