College Station Monthly Summary: November 2000

The first few days of November brought above-normal temperatures to the Brazos Valley followed by below-normal temperatures nearly lasting to the end of the month, which produced a monthly mean temperature 3.8°F below normal. With 18 days of precipitation, including 8 consecutive days, November 2000 had 9.29" of precipitation, which brought the yearly total to 31.23", 5.02" below normal. A stationary front brought much anticipated precipitation in the beginning of November, followed by a cold front which brought temperatures below normal on the 7th of the month. Additional cold fronts passed through on the 12th and the 16th, producing below normal temperatures for 10 consecutive days and 5 consecutive days of precipitation. A stationary front accompanied slightly warmer temperatures and more precipitation from the 22nd through the 24th. Temperatures warmed up towards the end of the month as a high pressure system dominate the region, until a low pressure system over the Midwest brought a bit more precipitation on the 29th.
