College Station Monthly Summary: November 2007

November 2007 was highlighted by warmer than normal temperatures for almost the entire month. A zonal wind pattern across the United States prevented any cold air from invading the Brazos Valley until late in the month. Through the first 14 days of the month, average daily temperatures were as much as 15°F above normal. Several near records were established for highest maximum temperature. A weak cold front pushed through the area on the 15th providing a brief cool down. However, the cool air was short lived and temperatures quickly rebounded. A new record was established on the 21st when the daily maximum temperature reached a balmy 83°F. Finally, on the night of the 21st, a Canadian cold front pushed through the area knocking temperatures down well below average. Cloudy, cold, and wet conditions prevailed from the 23rd through the 25th. High temperatures were well below normal on the 24th and 25th. Temperatures gradually modified through the end of the month. For the month, the average temperature was 62.2°F, which is 2.2°F above normal. The monthly total precipitation of 3.89" was 0.71" above normal.
