College Station Monthly Summary: April 2008

April 2008 saw drastic swings in temperatures throughout the month. The month started out on the warm side with highs in the 80s and lows in the upper 60s. There were several near records for highest minimum and maximum temperatures in the first week of the month. A series of cold fronts in the middle of the month knocked temperatures down to seasonal or below average. A moderating trend then occurred the latter half of the month with high temperatures approaching the 90°F mark. Despite the wild swing in temperatures, the monthly average temperature of 68.6°F was only 0.7°F above normal. The monthly precipitation total of 2.74" was about half an inch below normal.
