College Station Monthly Summary: July 2005

This past July was right about par as far as temperatures were concerned, though it did not appear things would be that way at the beginning of the month. High temperature records were either set or tied three out of the first seven days of the month, including highs of 102°F on both the 6th and the 7th. Thankfully, temperatures moderated the rest of July and the century mark was never threatened again. The only other temperature records set this July was the highest minimum temperature on the 20th and a record low on the 31st. A five-day stretch of rain from the 14th-18th brought temperatures down to below normal levels, including the 16th and 17th, days that saw highs only reach the middle 80s. Temperature for the last two weeks of July could be characterized as very normal. Rainfall in College Station was above normal for the month, thanks in large part to five consecutive days of precipitation from the 14th-18th.
