Texas Climate Report: April 2008
The month of April varied throughout the state in terms of precipitation. Portions of north, central, and south Texas recorded above average precipitation totals with other parts of the state saw little to no precipitation. El Paso recorded a trace of rain for the entire month, while Waco recorded over 5 inches. Temperature trends were generally slightly above average with several stations (Galveston, San Antonio, Del Rio) recorded departures of close to 2°F above normal. Severe weather ramped up late in the month as several upper level disturbances traversed the state. Several hail, high wind, and even a few tornado reports were observed across north and central Texas.
