College Station Monthly Summary: August 2013
Hot was the month of August 2013 in College Station! With a high pressure ridge dominating the weather patterns for the region, there was hardly any chance for a reprieve from the heat as rain stayed far away. 18 days were recorded with temperatures at or above the century mark, and all but the 26th recorded a high temperature above 95 degrees Fahrenheit. 85% of the month's paltry rainfall came on the 11th when a weak tropical disturbance moved into the area providing just enough of the ingredients to bring some pop-up thunderstorms to the city, but overall College Station is down nearly two inches for the month. With this lack of rainfall drought conditions worsened across the Brazos Valley with the entire region returning to Extreme drought conditions.
