College Station Monthly Summary: December 2013
It was both hot and cold this month, often times within a few days of each other! Temperatures warmed into the 80s earlier at the beginning of the month, but on the 5th a strong cold front dropped temperatures down into the 30s with temperatures not rising above freezing all day on the 7th. The majority of the rain this month came from a steady rain on the 21st when low pressure and a cold front set the stage for strong thunderstorms to develop across the Brazos Valley. Though none of the storms were severe, there was heavy rain and strong winds while the storms passed. Still, the rains were not enough this month to reach normal levels, as less than 25% of normal precipitation was recorded for the month.
