College Station Monthly Summary: June 2000

The Bryan/College Station area had 10 days with measurable precipitation (four greater than normal). However, the monthly rain total of 2.53" was still 1.15" below average, increasing the year-to-date deficit. Although June was relatively dry, the average monthly temperature was only 0.5°F above normal. Only one temperature record was broken (low minimum temperature), and only 3 temperatures were near records. June began with above-average temperatures as the first three days reached into the lower 90s. However, two cool fronts moved through the Midwest on the 3rd through the 6th, bringing rain and dropping temperatures into the middle 80s. On the 9th-11th, southeasterly winds provided the moisture for more precipitation as 1.42" of rain fell on these days. After more rainfall on the 17th-20th, temperature rose back into the 90s for the remainder of the month.
