College Station Monthly Summary: March 2013

March 2013 was much cooler and dryer than normal with only four days of measurable precipitation recorded and six days of temperatures more than 10 degrees below normal. The greatest rain event occurred on the 10th when a cold front capitalizing on warm gulf moisture brought 1.30 inches of rain to Easterwood Field. Unfortunately for the city, which has been under drought status since 2011, the drought did not improve. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, Brazos County moved from moderate to severe drought from the beginning to the end of the month.
