College Station Monthly Summary: May 1999

Monthly temperatures for May in College Station averaged near normal with no maximum high temperature or minimum low temperature records set. Only three days reached 90 degrees compared to twenty days with 90°F or higher last May! A cold front extending southward from a Midwestern low pressure system on the 10th through the 12th brought more than half of the monthly total of 4.16" of precipitation. More significant rain fell near month’s end when a stationary front positioned across South Central Texas triggered storms that dumped over an inch of rain at Easterwood Field from the 28th to the 29th.
