College Station Monthly Summary: October 2011

The month of October for College Station was once again influenced by the drought of 2011 with only 0.96 inches of rain for the month, putting the city 3.26 inches below normal for the month and 19.13 inches below normal for the year. The main rain event occurred on the 9th when a low-level trough moved across the state, leaving the Brazos Valley with cool air in its wake. Temperatures throughout the month were characterized by cold-fronts which gave a rollercoaster ride for the temperatures. Overall the temperatures were around normal giving residents of Bryan/College Station a break from the sweltering summer of 2011.
