College Station Monthly Summary: September 2013

Spotty showers and thunderstorms for much of the month gave the Brazos Valley a relatively wet yet warm month. Just shy of three inches of rain fell on September 20th when a slow moving cold front and the remnants of Hurricane Manuel combined to give a soaking rain for not just the Brazos Valley but all of Texas. Another cold front pushed through the Brazos Valley late on the 28th and brought some more well needed precipitation. The rainfall that fell this month was helpful for the drought, because at the beginning of the month all of the Brazos Valley was under Extreme drought conditions, but towards the end the drought had improved to Moderate drought status.
